Peel the apples, cut them in half, and remove the core. Slice them thinly, about 3/4 millimeters. To be more specific, the slices should resemble half moons
2
In a bowl, mix flour, milk, half of the sugar (100g), yeast, eggs, and vanilla extract. The result will be a very liquid mixture, but that's how it should be
3
Add half of the previously sliced apples to the mixture and gently mix
4
Grease a 25 cm cake pan and pour the mixture into it, trying to level it as much as possible
5
Cover with the rest of the apples, decorating as desired. Finally, cover the surface with the remaining sugar and then with the oil. It may look very oily, but it's just an impression. The oil is only on the surface and will help keep the cake very soft
6
Bake at 190 degrees Celsius in a static oven for 60 minutes. In the last 5 minutes, switch to the fan mode to create a caramelized crust on the surface. Once removed from the oven, let it cool to room temperature before cutting
Cost
We can define it as a poor cake, there are no expensive ingredients. Each serving definitely costs less than one euro
Health
The total absence of butter makes it a not too heavy cake, let's not forget that olive oil is still very caloric. All in all, it's a cake that works great even for breakfasts outside of the weekend!
