A classic dish of Italian cuisine, rich and flavorful. The soft and tasty meatballs are fried and cooked in a thick and fragrant tomato sauce, which perfectly envelops the pasta. Ideal for a family lunch or a convivial dinner, it is a recipe that wins over both young and old
Cut the stale bread crumb into cubes, place it in a bowl, add the milk, and let it absorb for a few minutes
2
Put the ground beef and sausage meat in a bowl and mix well with your hands
3
Add the grated Parmigiano Reggiano, the bread, and the parsley, then mix until you get a compact dough
4
Form the meatballs by shaping them into spheres with a diameter of about 2 centimeters and place them on a tray
5
Place a large pan on the heat with the peanut oil and bring it to temperature
Tip:
If you have a kitchen thermometer, check that it has reached 170 degrees
6
Fry the meatballs in the pan for a couple of minutes, then drain them and set them aside
7
Place a large pot with plenty of salted water on the heat for cooking the pasta and bring it to a boil
8
Finely chop the onion and sauté it in a pan with a little olive oil
9
Add the tomato purée, salt, and cook over medium-low heat for a few minutes
10
Also add the meatballs to the pan and let them cook over low heat, stirring, until the pasta is ready
11
Cook the pasta and drain it al dente, add it to the pan with the sauce and toss for a minute over high heat, then serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley
Cost
By definition, this is a humble dish, even though it is rich in ingredients. Each serving costs less than three euros
Health
The addition of sausage in the meatballs gives the dish a lot of flavor but also quite a few calories. Avoid asking for seconds if you are on a diet
