Romagna's piadina made with olive oil

Romagna's piadina made with olive oil
A version made with olive oil, making it a bit lighter than the one made with lard. I use a bit of milk to keep them super soft

Directions

It takes 4 steps in 1 h 5 min
1 Romagna's piadina made with olive oil - step 1
In a bowl, mix the flour with water, milk, salt, oil, and baking soda. Knead until the dough is well combined and not sticky
2 Romagna's piadina made with olive oil - step 2
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature
3 Romagna's piadina made with olive oil - step 3
Divide the dough into 4 or 6 pieces, depending on the size you want for the flatbreads. Roll them out on a lightly floured surface with the help of a rolling pin. The thickness depends on your taste; I make them about 2/3 millimeters thick
4 Romagna's piadina made with olive oil - step 4
Place a flat and wide pan over medium-high heat, warm it up well, and cook one flatbread at a time on both sides (it will take about one or two minutes per side)

Cost

The price depends entirely on the cured meats you choose for the filling. In other words, the cost depends on your preferences

Health

They are made without lard, which helps reduce calories, but don't fool yourself into thinking it's a light dish. If you're on a diet, have just one, but make it a well-filled one!
